ECG Monitors for Resuscitaires

The 2019 Signature event, which was held prior to the establishment of the JEllie Foundation, donated funds to the Archie Foundation to buy ECG (electrocardiograph) monitors.

These specialist ECG monitors have additional oximeter functionality and are to be used at the time of delivery for babies needing extra support. They are extremely beneficial during neonatal resuscitation as it is often challenging to obtain a true heart rate for newborn babies.

The new ECG monitors will be compatible with planned equipment for the new Baird Family Hospital. The provision of these new monitors will also free up existing equipment which may be used in other regional maternity units where aged and outdated equipment is used.

Thus, the Signature donations are delivering a knock-on benefit beyond the neonatal unit in Aberdeen.
